About six months ago, the St Paul-Minneapolis Archdiocesan newspaper, The Catholic Spirit took down its web page for a re-design. At the same time, they announced a re-design of the printed edition too. A couple of months ago the printed version came out, niftily redesigned, easier to read, with more color and probably more satisfied subscribers and readers.
But the web page design project seems to be stuck in a time warp. About a month ago, they posted a few articles from the print version, but nothing has changed since then. Surely this isn't like some Defense Department project that will stick the parishioners for some humongous sum and no appreciable improvement in reliability or news coverage?
Another large diocese to our north also seems to be having problems learning how to post a version of their diocesan paper on line. They have a nice name which is great progress for them. But at what cost?
Does anybody out there have a clue as to what they are up to?
