"Rocco the Insufferable" Pays Tribute to Abp Ireland and His "Twin Cathedrals"

.

.
Rocco Palmo, who gossips on the Church from his seat at "Whispers in the Loggia", pays tribute today to Archbishop John Ireland, Minnesota's "Consecrated Blizzard of the Northwest", who, with his over-achieving abilities and personality was responsible for the virtually simultaneous construction of the Cathedral of St Paul and its Co-Cathedral in Minneapolis, now the Basilica of St Mary, the Immaculate Conception. More Here

The Cathedral begins its centennial celebration of the cornerstone laying on June 1 and details are beginning to be posted in The Catholic Spirit. The Basilica will begin its centennial celebrations at its annual fundraising Block Party on July 6 and 7.

Rocco, for a layperson in his early twenties, is fluent in Italian and has a remarkable amount of knowledge about Church personalities and is more often right than wrong with his facts and predictions.
