Light and Leaven down St Mary's Way

.

.
It appears that the Ironic Catholic, a Professor of Theology at St Mary's University of Minnesota, down Winona way, is an easy grader.

Check out SMUM if you're looking for an easy Theology B.A.

What's my evidence, you ask? Well, check out this UTube video of the I.C.'s Theology class of 2008 and all the grins on their faces after she gave them their grades. Looks like they all got A's, to me.

Lots of talent down there at St. Mary's to make this video and write those term papers.

John Becker from Guardian Angels parish in Woodbury is the singer/composer. And the priest at Mass near the end is Father Andrew Beerman, the new Rector for SMUM.

Ray from MN is pleased as punch that his first attempt at adding a video to Stella Borealis didn't explode his computer.

Actually, they were turning in the research papers that day--grinning with punchy relief.

Hey, it's no easy B.A.! I have numerous students who can testify to this!

...and FYI, the composer John Becker is still at Guardian Angels... no formal connection with SMU. He just did a workshop in Winona this Spring and I bought his CD and asked for permission for this song. His brother is the pastor of our parish in town.

Thanks for the post. You've done good with the video--you actually posted it in a way I don't understand, but it works! (A+)

I went to Mass in that chapel in the video before. I couldn't understand why they used those kool-aid pitchers and clay things instead of proper vessels. It was all a little weird for me but the priest was so sweet.

Laura--that has changed. The vessels are "the real deal" now, students raised money to buy them. The chapel ain't much to look at though--we're working on that, trust me!

(p.s. got a million dollars?)

Thousands of parishes must have traded in their priceless ciboria and chalices for Kool-Aid jugs and home-made pottery.

Did they get Gold Bond Stamps, too? They sure got the shaft on the trade in.
