Catholic Studies expansion dedicated at UST; Open House scheduled for December 8

.
The University of St. Thomas Center for Catholic Studies dedicated and blessed its newly expanded and renovated building Nov. 30. The $3.9 million expansion has doubled the amount of usable space at Sitzmann Hall, which includes gathering and classroom spaces, offices, larger chapel, outdoor garden and Marian shrine.

Archbishop John Nienstedt and University of St. Thomas president Father Dennis Dease concelebrated the dedication Mass. Sitzmann Hall’s new four-level addition was named the Schulze Wing to honor donors Richard and Maureen Schulze.

The Catholic studies program is the oldest and largest of its kind in the United States. A public reception including refreshments and tours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Sitzmann Hall. Catholic Spirit
