Ray, I read enough of this site to understand that Bishop Anderson was one of the many clergy who got caught up in the "spirit" of VaticanII and implemented things that were not actually in the documents. "Anderson was open to the Holy Spirit and caught the true sense of the renewal called for by the Fathers of the 2nd Vatican Council". We are just now digging out of the hole that they dug us into using this "true sense".
There should have been more letter writting like that which resulted in Bishop Hunthausen resigning from "conservative" Catholics. We would have more authentically educated Catholics to help fight against the culture's drive for same sex marriage. Rather, we have to fight inside the Church because of bishops like this who taught their flocks that they could "faitfully dissent" against Church doctrine.
We can't judge the man but we can judge the pathetic results of the last 40 years.
