When Baby Boomers Sit on Parish Councils. . . .

Clayton at The Weight of Glory analyzes some recent minutes taken at the St Joan of Arc Parish Council meetings in Minneapolis:

you get all sorts of ranting about who is in power, the creation of new documents in the service of parallel magisteriums, etc. A sense of ecclesial communion that runs no deeper than a stance of "non-violence" toward the bishop. A disregard for the authority of the universal Church, the local bishop, and the pastor. Not a word about trying to understand Church teaching, but rather an attempt to redefine it. Healthy doses of self-congratulation. Can you say ecclesial nightmare?
