Watch for the Rose Vestments on Laetare Sunday

Next Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Lent has traditionally been called "Laetare Sunday" taken from the first Latin word of the Introit chant Laetare Jerusalem (Rejoice O Jerusalem and gather round all you who love her. . .). As we mark the penitential weeks of Lent, we celebrate the liturgy of this Sunday with a more joyous tone, including prelude and postlude music, and presidential prayers which include images articulating the "joyful season of Lent."
