A time to celebrate, give thanks and have fun.
That’s what members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winona will have the chance to do on Sunday, August 27. From 3-5:30 p.m., the church will host a homecoming celebration in honor of past pastors, associate pastors and lay staff.
“It’s a chance for them to come back and then, for those of us who are still here, to gather with them,” said Shannon Hanzel, a committee member who worked on organizing the event. “They have all helped build the parish that we have.”
Former priests expected to attend include Msgr. Joe Mountain (1960-1975), Father Jim Russell (1975-1983), Father Don Connelly (1984-1992), Father Joe Keefe (1992-2003) and Father William Becker (2003-present).
