There can't be too many more happy than the "Country Boy" in South Dakota

.
He might get his radio station pretty quickly now.

Basil, as student in Aberdeen, who blogs at A Country Boy Writes . . . ., must be among the most happy in the Diocese of Sioux Falls with the announcement yesterday of their new Bishop. He has had plans and funds to establish a new Catholic radio station for the area but was asked to hold off until the appointment of the new Bishop.

Msgr. Paul J. Swain has only been named our bishop for 12 hours as of this point. Many people in the Sioux Falls Diocese are breathing much easier, realizing that we were not 'left out' or 'forgotten.' WE HAVE A BISHOP! I know very little regarding Bishop-Elect Swain, but I do know that he seems to be quite the spitfire regarding his faith and his ability to be a leader. He has been a priest 18 years, a Catholic for 23. He has been a Monsignor already and now a bishop! This shows great strenght and trust in his character. In fact, he was ordained only 8 years when he was named Vicar General for the Diocese of Madison and previous to that was the assistant vicar general. This makes me think he is of great trust and that his legal background can only help him more!
