St Peter and Paul Parish in Mankato, in the Diocese of Winona, was about to lose its Jesuit priests in July. But it looks like Bishop Bernard Harrington was on top of the situation and has invited priests of an Argentinian order, fluent, of course, in Spanish, to staff St Peter and Paul beginning July 1. The Institute of the Incarnate Word, an order of both men and women, both active and contemplative, was founded by Father Carlos Miguel Buela in 1984 in Argentina. It currently serves 11 parishes in the United States.

Bishop Bernard Harrington Visits the IVE's Seminary
On Friday, November 16th, , the Fulton Sheen House of Formation was honored to receive a visit from Bishop Bernard J. Harrington, who is the ordinary of the Diocese of Winona, Minnesota. Bishop Harrington celebrated mass for us in the church of St. John Baptist de la Salle, and then stayed for lunch with Fr. Gustavo Nieto, our provincial superior, the priest formation staff and all the seminarians and novices. We are thankful for the visit of Bishop Harrington, and for his exhortation (in his homily) to always remember that “the hand of God is closer than the door.” We pray for God’s blessings and Our Blessed Mother’s intercession for Bishop Harrington and the people of his diocese.
