Catechism Class, Free, in Stillwater and Hudson taught by Dr. Tom Loome, PhD, of Loome Theological Booksellers

.
It's free, but one supposes there is a long list of required out-of-print books

Catechism of the Catholic Church

Start date: Week of September 21, 2009

7:00-8:30 PM

Monday evenings: St. Patrick’s in Hudson

Thursday evenings: St. Mary’s in Stillwater

Both evenings are open to women and to men who are eager to learn what the Catholic teaches. Individuals who attend these classes can be assured that each class will be given twice (Monday in Hudson; Thursday in Stillwater). Attend the class each week which is more convenient: if not free on a given Monday evening, attend the Thursday class; if Thursday won't work, attend the Monday class instead.

All classes, both in Hudson and in Stillwater, will be taught by Thomas Loome.

There is no charge for this course; the only cost will be the purchase of a copy of the Catechism (paperback $15, hardback $25).

Are you a little behind in church teaching? Perhaps you’re just a bit rusty in the faith? Ever have a question about the teachings of the Church and where they come from? Ever been asked by a non-catholic some very probing questions about the Catholic teaching and didn't have an answer for them. Are you a catechist wishing to broaden your understanding of the Catholic teaching to better prepare yourself for the challenges in the upcoming school year? Interested? Then this is the class for you. Best of all it’s FREE!

This is an excellent series of classes. Two nights are available per week; your choice, Mondays and Thursdays, two different locations. We're fortunate to have someone like Dr. Loome in the St. Croix Valley Area so take advantage of this opportunity. If you don't have a copy of the Universal Catechism, not the U.S. Catechism for Adults but the big green one, Dr. Loome can provide copies (approx. $20 for hard cover, less for the soft cover)

If you're not aware of it, Loome Theological Booksellers in Stillwater is probably the largest used theological bookseller in the world!! Dr. Loome at one time was a Professor of Theology at St. Kates.
