Catholic theologian and author Michael Novak will speak in the Twin Cities April 21. Novak, who holds the George Frederick Jewett Chair in Religion and Public Policy at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington D.C., will present “The Universal Hunger for Liberty: Why the Clash of Civilizations is not Inevitable,” at 12:15 p.m. in room 25 of the University of Minnesota Law School. The event is free and open to the public.
Later that day, Novak will speak at the annual banquet of the Minnesota Association of Scholars. His talk, entitled “Islam Tests Democracy,” will be held in the Smail Gallery of the Olin Science Center at Macalester College in St. Paul. Tickets are $30.
