Oakdale Boy Scout, Brandon Yapl, Makes 600 Rosaries for MN troops going to Iraq

Brandon Yapel, a 13-year-old Boy Scout from Oakdale, decided he wanted to do something to honor both his country and his Catholic faith when he started working on a service project to attain his Eagle Scout rank. So the eighth-grader at Oakdale's Skyview Middle School decided he would make rosaries for soldiers in the Minnesota National Guard. Brandon's effort produced 600 rosaries paired with prayer booklets, which were delivered to the Veteran Services Building in St. Paul on Monday.

Who he is: Brandon is now a Life Rank member of Boy Scouts Troop 580 in Oakdale. He's also a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, where he's in confirmation preparation classes. Pioneer Press Link

Here's all the Google News on the departure of the 2,600 members of Minnesota's 1/34th Brigade Combat Team which has been training in Mississippi for quite a few months. Please pray for them while they do their duty to their God and their Country.
