O'Connell Society (www.docsociety.org) Changes Name to Defenders of Church

The Daniel O'Connell Society "a brotherhood of Catholic men who seek to restore the fraternity and fatherhood of the Catholic priesthood" chose for its name that of one of the victims in the Hudson, WI, killing two years ago. The family of the victim was not happy about that choice.

The Society, (www.docsociety.org) quite recently formed, happily has abandoned their first choice of names and has selected "Defenders of Church", fortuitously being able to continue using the same internet URL.

Their home page indicates that they are having a public meeting at the University Club in St Paul (420 Summit) tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m.

One wonders if at that time they will release the information that they promised earlier in Lent. Dr. David Pence "said he would issue a "white paper" before Easter detailing the "polluted diocesan priesthood" — said he believed a gay culture contrary to church teaching existed among priests, which created a system of deceit that allowed Erickson to get through seminary."
