The Diocese of Fargo is sponsoring two opportunities for people to learn more about Theology of the Body through seminars given by Ascension Press. Although the training is in part designed for specific applications, they would benefit anybody who has an interest in Theology of the Body (TOB).
Opportunity #1: An Introduction to Theology of the Body
Pope John Paul II devoted the first major teaching project of his pontificate – 129 short talks between September of 1979 and November of 1984 – to provide a profoundly beautiful vision of human sexuality. He gave this project the working title “Theology of the Body”. By helping us to understand this profound interconnection between sex and the Christian mystery, John Paul’s Theology of the Body not only paves the way for lasting renewal of marriage and the family; it enables everyone to rediscover “the meaning of the whole of existence, the meaning of life”.
This seminar provides a good general overview of TOB and prepares the way for more in-depth study in the future. **At the end of the day, there will be a special TOB for Teens Break-out Session for those who are interested in teaching this subject to teenagers.
Time: March 2, 2007 – 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Place: Fr. Arth Room, Cardinal Muench Seminary, 100 35th Ave. NE, Fargo.
Costs: $5 for materials; $50 seminar fee.
Total seminar costs for Opportunity #1 = $55
**Those interested in TOB for Teens Break-out Session should add $15 for materials and $5 session fee. Total TOB for Teens add-on costs = $20.
