Monsignor Schuler; Who was he?

.
Many readers here have no idea why Msgr. Richard Schuler, Pastor Emeritus after 32 years at St Agnes in St Paul, and who died yesterday after a long illness, is getting so much recognition.

Cathy of Alex, who blogs at Recovering Dissident Catholic, has a very nice post that concisely covers many of the things at the good Monsignor was esteemed for. Not the least of these is the number of religious vocations that he was responsible for. See her post here.

Terry, from Abbey-Roads2, has a link to a bio of Msgr Schuler done 20 years ago here.
