Retired Fargo Bishop Sullivan's Health Reported Deteriorating

The health of retired Roman Catholic Bishop James Sullivan, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, is deteriorating and he may be near death, the current bishop of the diocese here says.

Bishop Samuel Aquila, of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fargo, posted a statement on the diocese Web site asking people to pray for Sullivan, 76, who retired from the Fargo diocese in 2002. "I wish to inform you that Bishop James Sullivan's health has deteriorated. As you are well aware, it is difficult to know when death will occur," Aquila wrote in a statement that also was sent to priests and diocese staff. [snip] Grand Forks Herald
